Save the Date – Yorkshire Porsche Festival, July 3rd 2016
With summer heating up, the annual glut of motoring events really gets going. One of the biggest celebrations of all things Porsche – and an event worth of any Porsche enthusiast’s diary – is set to take place at the picturesque Lotherton Hall near Leeds on Sunday July 3rd.
Organisers, Porsche Club GB, are expecting over 400 cars including everything from classics to modern variants, a motorsport display and much more. As well as the cars, there will be a concours competition, trade village, hog roast and a bar. The event’s sponsors, local Porsche experts and friends of GT Porsche, Strasse, will also be putting on a display of some of their stock and will have their own marquee in which visitors can buy merchandise.
The Yorkshire Porsche Festival isn’t just a chance to meet up with other owners and enjoy the day; proceeds from it will be donated to Candlelighters – a local charity dedicated to supporting children battling cancer, and their families. About the festival, Candlelighters say; “We are delighted to have once again been chosen to benefit from the Yorkshire Porsche Festival. The event’s support will help ordinary families facing extraordinary circumstances. From funding play specialists in the hospital, to providing a break from the hospital for a massage and a chat at family support centre The Square, Candlelighters strives to make the unbearable diagnosis of childhood cancer a little bit more bearable.”
Entry to the event is open to everyone, members and non-members alike. Tickets can be bought in advance form the Porsche Club of Great Britain at just £6 per car. Alternatively Lotherton Hall standard entry prices will apply on the day at £5.50 per adult and £2.70 per child. Ticketholders will not only gain entry to the show, they can also visit Lotherton Hall and enjoy its extensive grounds.
If you want to pre book, get in quick as online sales end on Friday 24th. Tickets will also be available on the day.
