Teaser Sketch and Video of New Panamera Released
Ahead of its world premiere on June 28th at an event in Berlin, Porsche has released a teaser video and sketch of the new Panamera. Whilst there have been spy shots aplenty doing the rounds for some time now showing the car in an almost production-ready state, Porsche has been careful to ensure that the final car’s details remain unknown until the premiere. In the latest images from hot weather testing in South Africa, for example, the car sports mock light clusters. What we can glean is that the new Panamera takes significant design cues from latest generation 718 Boxster.
The teaser video very much follows the ‘less is more’ approach when it comes to actually showing the car, focusing more on the brand’s courage throughout its history. Porsche states that sticking rigidly to its long-established principles of change, progress and perfection has been at the heart of the next generation Panamera’s development.
Few technical details have been released yet, but we do know the car is based on the new ‘MSB’ platform (which Porsche shares with Bentley) in both rear and four wheel drive guises. Power will be delivered by a new generation of V6 and V8 petrol engines, with a hybrid version set to remain in the model line-up.
Look out in the next issue of GT Porsche for a full round up of the new Panamera, including the latest images and technical details ahead of the model’s public debut at the Paris Motor Show.
